Invented in the 17th century, by Sir John Suckling, an English courtier, poet, gamester and gambler, cribbage was originally derived from an earlier game called Noddy. It was originally a five card game for 4 people, where one card was discarded to the crib by each player. Variations of the game allows for two, three or four players. This board game has virtually remained unchanged for hundreds of years.
